Girl Boss by Sophia Amoruso of Nasty Gal

I remember when Nasty Gal first hit the scene, way before every other fast fashion sites took over our news feeds and timelines. But being the back-story lover that I am, I wanted to know how the pursuit of the brand began. Sophia seemed like such a hippie, but a hippie with laser focus on her vision.

She too, used one source of funding to start her brand. She began selling thrift-ed items on eBay, and after a few years, she used the money to open her first store. Before she knew it, her company was worth millions. She also kept the same team from the brand’s inception.

Two great lines that stood out to me were “money looks better in the bank than on your feet” and ” you can’t act like you’ve arrived when you’re only just receiving the invitation.” A really good, quick read. 4 out of 5 stars.

Love and Vibes,
Nichole Naomi
