Miss Jessie’s Creating a Successful Business from Scratch Naturally

Five years ago, I went to a Her Agenda Live event in NYC with guest speaker Miko Branch of Miss Jessie’s natural hair care. Being from Brooklyn/Queens, it was nice to hear the story of their come up about how she and her sister got started. Starting from their in-home hair salon to expanding with a salon-quality product line was truly inspiring.

*I bought the book at the event, and due to this quarantine, I finally finished it.*

Reading the book took you on a journey of working with family, working and living under the same roof, to ultimately being sold in Target stores nation wide. Miko finished writing the book even after her sister Titi’s passing. Having only one sister myself I couldn’t imagine life without her.

The biggest lesson I got from the book was to practice a slow financial build so you can start your business without lenders or investors. Having your own money determines a lot about how you conduct your business practices. Being a business owner myself, there were so many important keys to take note of as I move forward in my efforts to stay in business.

4.5 out of 5 stars, a definite must read.

Love and Vibes,
Nichole Naomi
